Our Nebraska Online Notary Training Course provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to become a successful notary public. Learn the state’s notary laws, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and confidence in your role.
Applicants must be at least 19 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and a resident of Nebraska or a bordering state with a place of work in Nebraska. Individuals with felony convictions are not eligible.
Obtain and complete the notary application from the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website.
Nebraska requires new notary applicants to pass a notary exam administered by the Secretary of State, covering notary laws and best practices.
Purchase a $15,000 surety bond from an insurance or bonding company. The bond must be valid for the four-year commission term.
Mail the completed application, proof of passing the exam, the $15,000 surety bond, and the $30 filing fee to the Nebraska Secretary of State.
