Apply electronically through the State Treasurer’s online system and pay the $25 non-refundable application fee. If your application is accepted, follow the commissioning instructions you receive. Within three months of receiving your commission, you must take and subscribe your oath before the appropriate county clerk, who will complete the qualification process and transmit the required information to the State Treasurer.

You must also maintain a journal of all notarial acts performed, using either a permanent bound journal or a compliant electronic journal, and retain those records as required.
