Meet Idaho’s Eligibility Requirements

Be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and reside or work in Idaho.

Complete the Idaho Notary Application

Fill out and submit the official application through the Idaho Secretary of State.

Obtain a $10,000 Surety Bond

Purchase a four-year bond from NPA and submit proof.

Take the Oath of Office

Sign your oath of office in front of a commissioned notary.

Submit Your Application and Fee

Mail or upload your application, bond certificate, and oath of office with a $30 fee.

Receive Your Notary Commission

Once approved, the Idaho Secretary of State will issue your commission certificate.
